Product Description

Guide-by-wire

The Alfresco Cable Guide Awning by Covered Group is the next step in functionality and style. It is fundamentally identical to the Alfresco Straight Drop except for the addition of stainless steel ‘guiding’ wires and 316 marine-grade stainless steel brackets. The rust proof brackets and guiding cables finish the look, increase the ease-of-use and provide increased strength. During operation and while at rest, keep the bottom rail safely in-line with the tensioned stainless steel cables. The Alfresco Cable Guide is a popular choice over other alfresco awning types thanks to the increase in safety during operation and use during windy conditions. This is thanks to the cables that ensure the bottom rail does not get blown around violently while raising or lowering the fabric.

Unlike many alfresco awnings like the Alfresco Straight Drop or Veue Straight Drop, the cable guides allow wind sensors, Wi-Fi Controllers and timers to be added without the added worry of accidentally leaving them clipped down and causing damage.

Raise a glass …& some eyebrows

Choose from seven standard colours for our attractive and locally manufactured bottom rail. With the right colour, the bottom rail will blend into its surrounds while allowing a raft of secure attachment options if desired. Add a matching fabric valance (fabric flap) to stop additional wind or rain from sneaking underneath your awning – for NO extra cost! (No discounts for omitting this option)

Stop dirt, dust and other mess from ruining your fabric by adding our simple-yet-effective headbox (or hood). A hood will extend the life and the look of your awning without breaking the budget. Choose from a range of standard colours or choose from any of the Dulux® Powder coat colours to suit your decor (surcharge applies).

The Alfresco Cable Guide Awning can be installed onto almost anything. Attach the cable guides to posts, floors, walls, beams or even concrete pads under your grass can be used! See the range of bottom fixings available here (coming soon). The Alfresco Cable Guide can be as narrow as 0.2 metres (200mm) wide and 0.7 metres (700mm – if motorised). Span up to 6 metres wide if required in one span (refer to your warranty for further size-related details). Covered have eliminated top tube sagging for awnings up to 4 metres wide by using high-grade steel.

Smooth Operator

Impress your friends and family by commanding your Alfresco Cable Guide using only your voice†. Optional WiFi allows a weekly schedule to control your weekend sleep-in. Automatically shade your home on hot days†. Get woken up by the morning sun†. Set your awnings and lights to jump into action with scene operation†. The choice is yours.

Covered Group have taken the strain out of manually raising and lowering the systems too. With our select range of German-made gearboxes, the removable crank handle ensures child-safe operation. Cords, chains, wires or cables are not needed for safe operation. To operate manually, you will need to turn the crank handle 8 times for every 1 rotation of the top tube. For this reason, many customers opt for the motorised option to spend their time enjoying their awnings, not operating them.

With the touch of a button, motorised awnings save you from manual operation. Motorisation is ideal for the elderly or those with a disability. We offer a range of motors, fabrics & specials to cater for all budgets – so get in touch with your local Covered agent today to learn more about the Alfresco Cable Guide awning by Covered Group.

†Optional extras and programming required. See your local covered agent for more information.

What to expect

Even with wire guides, strong winds can still blow the awning about. When mild to moderate winds are expected, Covered recommended to clip or strap the bottom rail securely. Don’t expect any awning to operate as a windbreaker for strong winds. Protect your awnings from premature wear, damage and destruction of property by retracting during strong winds. Awnings are not walls and will act like a sail in the wind. Never leave your awnings unattended.

You won’t succeed in completely sealing in your alfresco with an Alfresco Cable Guide awning. You can expect at least 99% shadow coverage from the sun. This is, of course, depending on your individual needs and available installation locations. The Alfresco Cable Guide Awning does a similar job as the Zipscreen but can be installed in a greater range of situations. Unlike the zipscreen, the stainless steel cables allow the awning to operate slightly off the vertical axis to avoid fixed obstacles.

Covered customers enjoy reduced sun penetration, increased total privacy and reduced effects of the wind. Add this to temperature controlling your alfresco space with a heater or misting system and you can enjoy the outdoors year-round. See and feel the improvement in your home or business brought to you with an Alfresco Cable Guide. Instantly notice reduced, glare, heat gains and energy savings! Depending on the type and colour of materials selected, you can expect anywhere from or 0.00% to 99.9% UV blocking. When comparing Clear Non-Shrink PVC to Black Woven 100% Privacy Mesh.
